CYRANO DE BERGERAC Added to the 12-13 Season

Posted on: June 4th, 2012 by Todd Haimes

I am pleased to announce that the first production at the American Airlines Theatre in the 2012 -2013 season will be Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, translated by Ranjit Bolt, directed by Jamie Lloyd, and starring Douglas Hodge as the title character. I am thrilled to have both Doug and Jamie joining the Roundabout family and bringing this classic play to our audience.

Doug won a Tony Award® for his performance in La Cage aux Folles, and I think Cyrano is the perfect role for his return to Broadway. Jamie is known for his imaginative take on an extremely versatile body of work, including productions of The Pride, She Stoops to Conquer, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He recently mounted a much-lauded production of Inadmissible Evidence in London, featuring a tour-de-force performance by Doug. With Jamie’s unique vision and Doug’s incredible talent, this production of Cyrano is sure to be exceptional.

Cyrano de Bergerac will begin previews on September 14, 2012 and open officially on October 11, 2012 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. This will be a limited engagement through November 25, 2012.

Roundabout subscribers have first access to tickets. To become a Roundabout Subscriber, visit www.roundabouttheatre.org or call Roundabout Audience Services at (212) 719-1300 today. Single Tickets will be available to the general public in the winter of 2012-2013.

Warm regards,

Todd Haimes, Artistic Director
